GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:
1) EMSC Needs Assessment of State and Regional
Resources
-
To utilize the EMSC Needs Assessment (based upon
the EMSC National Resource Center template) to conduct a statewide assessment
of both the State EMSC program and the five Pediatric Regional EMS Advisory
Committees

To identify systems projects to conduct based upon
the needs assessment
2) Prevention Initiatives in Partnership
with the Community

To expand the injury prevention initiatives at the
state, regional, and local levels to include the NFPA Risk Watch curriculum
training programs

To develop partnerships between public safety, community
health, and school health programs
-
To initiate the development of Risk Watch partners
in one county per region during each year of the grant award
3) ABCs for KIDS: Kids in Disasters
-
To write a template for continuing education workshops
focused on the needs of children and families in multicasualty/disasters
that will complement the existing courses available in Maryland
-
To develop a core faculty and necessary instructor
resources to enable dissemination of the ABCs for KIDS workshop in the
five EMS Regions in collaboration with pediatric and educational professionals

To develop models for table-top and full-scale drills
focused on incidents with children of different ages and reflecting the
diversity of Maryland's population and geography
