Child Care Safety

People want their homes to be safe for their children and any child that visits. Children are curious by nature and no obstacle is high or wide enough to prevent them from exploring the environment that surrounds them.

The National Safe Kids Campaign reports that 4.5 million children are injured in their homes yearly. The main causes of injuries in the home are falls, fires and burns, drowning, suffocation and choking, poisoning, and firearms. Most of these injuries can be prevented by child-proofing your home.

The following web links and resources in this section are just an introduction to the resources available to assist you in making your home safe for children.
