In 2005 an estimated 234,000
children under the age of 14 were injured in vehicle crashes and over
1,900 children died in crashes..
Motor Vehicle crashes remain the leading
cause of unintentional injury-related death among children under the
age of 14. When correctly installed and used, child safety seats,
booster seats, and safety belts can prevent injuries and save lives.
All 50 states and the District
of Columbia currently have some form of child occupant protection
laws.
