Safety on Wheels

From bicycles to roller blades, experiencing wheels in motion is exciting for a child. For most children, it is their first experience with freedom and a sense of accomplishment, as well as praise from adults. Along with these new adventures there are also many responsibilities for both the child and the adult who is supervising the activity.

Every child should know the rules and guidelines of the area or road that she or he will be sharing with others. Above all a child needs to know the appropriate safety equipment required when on a bicycle, skateboard, or scooter or when wearing in-line skates. Again, the key factor in reducing unintentional injuries in children is supervision.
