Sports Safety
In the United States, almost
three-quarters of the households with school-age children have at
least one child active in organized sports. Participation in sports
improves physical fitness, self-discipline, teamwork, and self-esteem.
As interest and involvement in organized sports increase, so does
the risk of physical injuries. Over half of sports-related injuries
among children can be prevented through proper use of safety gear
and supervision.
No matter what your favorite
sport is the right precautions can decrease unintentional injuries.
