Water Safety
Drowning is the second leading
cause of unintentional injury related death in children (1-14 years).
More than 900 children die each year and four times that are victims
of near drowning. Drowning or near drowning is most likely to occur
when an unsupervised child falls into a pool or is left alone in a
bathtub.
Never leave a child alone near
wather. It only takes a second for a child to drown. The following
web links and resources are an introduction to the resources available
to assist in the development of programs and activities that will
reduce child and youth unintentional injury at home or in the community.
