Protocol Administrator
Primary Job Function:
The Protocol Administrator will be responsible for working collaboratively with the State EMS Medical Director, the protocol committee, and other MIEMSS personnel to develop and subsequently implement protocols published within The Maryland Medical Protocols for EMS Providers. The Protocol Administrator will also assist with related duties and responsibilities assigned to the OMD including meeting attendance, literature review, medical research, and other duties as assigned. The position weekly hours will vary, but will average approximately 20 hours per week.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor of Science or higher. Four years of EMS administrative experience may be substituted for a BS degree.
Computer Experience:
Applicant must have thorough working knowledge of the Microsoft Office environment including Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook to prepare reports, databases (electronic and paper), presentations, official correspondence and other duties as assigned.
Work Experience:
Applicant must be a currently licensed Maryland paramedic with at least 5 years of field experience in Maryland. The applicant must have a working knowledge of Maryland’s EMS system, as well as a fundamental knowledge with the protocol development process. Also, the applicant must have current knowledge of medical research related to EMS protocol development. The applicant must also be able to work collaboratively with constituents internal and external to MIEMSS to develop a medically-sound protocol document for all of Maryland’s EMS providers. Further, the applicant must be able to demonstrate strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple, simultaneous assignments; meet tight deadlines; and be detail-oriented. He/she must be a self-starter and able to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people with varying interests and levels of involvement.
Salary:
The salary of the part-time protocol administrator will be $20-$25 per hour.
