The Pediatric Reference Card & Pediatric Reference Poster contain essential information necessary to assess and treat a pediatric patient. The information includes Pediatric Normal Vitals Signs, Definition of Hypotension by Age and Systolic Blood Pressure, Pain Rating Scale, Rule of Nines, Pediatric Glasgow Coma Scale, Pediatric Assessment, Average Equipment Sizes and Important Numbers. To request the Pediatric Reference Card or Poster, please send an email to pepp@miemss.org identifying the item and quantity desired.

Tracheostomy Care for All Ages

The Pediatric Tracheostomy Care Online Learning Module is available on the MIEMSS Online Training Center.  The module reviews special considerations and adaptations needed to perform patient assessments when working with a patient who has special healthcare needs.  The course explains the function and anatomy of a tracheostomy and discusses reasons why a patient may have a tracheostomy tube.  The course outlines when to perform trachestomy suctioning as well as when to perform a tracheostomy change.  Necessary equipment and steps for performing each skill are also included in this interactive, self-paced course. 

The course offers 1 hour of NCCP Individual credit for ALS clinicians and 1 hour of Medical credit for BLS clinicians.
