The state Maryland Pediatric Emergency Medical Advisory Committee (PEMAC) serves as the advisory committee to the State EMS Board and State EMS Advisory Council for pediatric issues. PEMAC was developed to facilitate the identification of needs for pediatric emergencies, trauma, and critical care and to make recommendations for statewide enhancement initiatives for the Maryland EMS System. PEMAC is involved in the development of statewide guidelines for hospital and pre-hospital care; in the identification of educational needs for health care professionals regarding pediatric emergencies, trauma, and critical care; and in the dissemination of prevention programs focused on children and families.
